Google Play now shows the downloads of an application in searches

Distinguish if an application is legit in Google Play is not easy at first sight, although you can get a good idea of its popularity from the number of downloads and your score. These two data are now visible when searching.

Since Google Play started to show the size of the applications in their listings four years agothe data shown have been changing and adapting frequently. This last change should make easier to distinguish apps with fake ones that aren’tat least in practice.

Downloads, more visible

In order to download applications from Google Play, it is important to be aware of to not end up going down deceitful applicationsup above advertising or directly malware. Now, in the listings that appear when you do a search it displays the name of the application, developer, category, the average score and the number of downloads. This data only appears in searches, the rest of the listings remain as they were until now. The listings of categories or applications of the same developer to only display the average score and not the downloads or the size, at least for the moment.
