Google Photos wants to learn even more from your photos, and you’ll have to tell them yourself

One of the best cloud galleries available for Android in Spain is Google Photos. Although the storage service has payment plans to store our photos in their original size, the free option is usually one of the preferred options as it offers us unlimited space in a format in which the photos hardly lose quality.

But beyond its size, Google Photos has many more advantages, such as the powerful built-in search engine, capable of finding photos that you probably didn’t even remember you had in the gallery. However, this engine is far from perfect, and Google wants you to help improve it.

The Google Photos search engine is one of the things that fascinates me the most about the app. Just write any term we can think of and it starts showing us all the photos in our gallery that meet the criteria. Be it a dog, a car or a snowy landscape, the results are surprising.

Although the concept is simple, the more you think about it, the more complicated, and this is achieved throughmachine learning. Through a neural network trained by Google, each photograph we upload goes through a process in which it analyzes and labels everything it sees, and based on these results it is then able to categorize people or carry out these searches.

This feature will show us images on which Google’s artificial intelligence has been unable to identify what was in them, and our task will be to explain what is in the photograph as concisely as possible.
