There are occasions that when you used Google Maps, the application we are not placing correctly. Shows another position different from the real one. In this type of situations, we can resort to the calibrate function, so that is going to give then the correct position in which we find ourselves. Now, it will be possible to also use Live View to do this.

To use this function on the phone, we have that to have coverage and mobile data activated. Otherwise it’s not going to be possible to use it. Then, we will have to click on the blue button and select the option called Calibrate with Live View, which allows us to then correct the position in which we find ourselves.

When this function is used in the application, you need to focus with the phone (with the camera) to the buildings and billboards in the street. It then uses image recognition Googlethat will be used in this case to give you our exact location at all times. Since we will be comparing these images with the that it has Street View and is thus able to determine on Google Maps what is our exact location at that time.

This function it launches in the new version of Google Mapsthat we can download from the Play Store. If you have the app in your mobile, you just have to upgrade to it.
