Google Maps is one of the best map services available in Spain, and it is that beyond coming pre-installed on almost any mobile with Android, it does not stop receiving continuous improvements. While some of these enhancements provide unparalleled utility, others are more understated and focus on aesthetics or customization.
The latest development is not that it is very bombastic, but it will certainly be to the liking of lovers of customization in the event that you use Google Maps to drive. And what does it consist of?
This novelty had been for iOS users for a while, and today Google has finally chosen to add it to the Android application. This is the possibility to customize the classic navigation arrow for a red car, a yellow station wagon or a green station wagon. Whichever car you choose, it’s a simple 3D model and it moves and turns in real time, as if it were a car from a video game.
To test this new design you have to have the Google Maps application updated to at least version 10.52.2 and start a route by car. At the moment that we are in the navigation map we will have to touch the point where we are and a drop-down menu will open in which we will have 4 options: choose any of the 3 cars or keep / return to the usual arrow.
On a personal level this addition is insubstantial and hardly contributes anything on a practical level, and in fact it even makes the map less visible. The good thing is that being a customizable option if it seems like a change that is not worth it, simply do not do anything to continue as you were.
