Google Lens adds its own gallery to analyze the photos you have on your mobile

In the beginning, Google Lens worked integrated into applications like Google Photos, although it did not take long to get the mode using the mobile camera. In addition to pointing the camera and obtaining information, it was possible use a photo from the mobile gallery in various ways.

One of these ways was from the Google Lens interface itself, which three years ago incorporated a button to import photos saved on the mobile. This button now instead of taking you to a native Android photo selector, it takes you to a gallery of your own, within Google Lens, making it easy for you to upload recent photos without leaving the app.

New photo selector in Google Lens

From the beginning, Google has not opted for a single way to access the Google Lens recognition functions, but has incorporated a thousand ways to do the same. This includes how you can use technology to analyze photos that are already on your mobile.

Basically, you have four options: from Google Photos, with the Android share menu, with integration into another gallery application that comes with your mobile or directly from Google Lens, with gallery button.

This button has been around for years, but its behavior has changed. Until now, Google Lens delegated the selection of recent photos to applications pre-installed on the mobile, such as the document selector. Now Google Lens includes its own image selector.

It is a simple selector that, after granting the application permission to access the files on the phone, shows us two groups: screenshots and all images. That is, any other album you have will be hidden in the bottomless pit that is “All Images”.

This novelty makes it easy for you to analyze recent screenshotsAlthough it can be hell to scan a photo from a long time ago, as there is no search engine or albums. In that case, it is best to search for the photo in Google Photos or use the Android Share menu to open it with Google Lens.
