Google does magic with your photos again: this is the new function that comes to all Pixels 1

Among all the mobiles available in Spain, one of the ones with the best reputation over the years is the Google Pixel. These mobiles not only include a spectacular camera in terms of quality, but also continuously receive features that allow us to give an extra touch to our photographs with the help of Google Photos.

Some of these features end up being in the Google Photos application, sometimes they are options available only for the Google Pixel. Despite the exclusivity, it never hurts to know them, like the one we tried today.

This is the new lighting mode for portraits of Google Photos for the Pixel

With the arrival of the Google Pixel 5, one of Google’s new photography features is a new edit mode for portrait mode. This mode is calledPortrait light, and allows us to change the lighting of a photograph in a way that seems almost magic. The most surprising thing is thatnot exclusive to the Pixel 5, and is beginning to reach the Pixels of previous generations.

As we can see in the video, the process is really simple. After taking a photo in portrait mode, press the edit button that will take us to the new Google Photos menu. From there, go toAdjust. Among the available options, we will have to tap on “Portrait light”, a tool that is before «Brightness» and after «Color focus».

Once you select it, you will have the option to select the point from which Google will simulate a light source, in addition to being able to graduate its intensity between 0 and 100.

In our tests, we have tested the function on a Pixel 2 XL and Pixel 4a, although it should work on previous generations, as well as on the Pixel 5. In the case of the original Google Pixel from 2016, it may not work as it is the only mobile of the brand that does not have an official portrait mode, and to enjoy it, all you have to do is simply update the Google Photos application in the Play Store or manually install the latest APK from APKMirror.
