Google Assistant will remind you of the birthdays of your contacts

Google Assistant continues to gain presence on Android, now it even reaches the lock screen on Android. A function that is beginning to be deployed among users, although it will take some time to reach Spain, are the new reminders of the assistant. From now on you will not have excuses to forget a birthday of a friend or family member.

In this function, Google Assistant will remind you of birthdays that you have in your agenda, from your contacts. So you will not forget to congratulate someone or buy them a gift. This new function is beginning to be shown for some Android users, in English for now.

Google Assistant helps you remember birthdays

Google Assistant will issue a notification when someone’s birthday approaches. It is a function that has been in the testing phase for some time, because some users began to see it on their phones last August. The notification on phones usually shows about a week and a half before that birthday.

Given this notification that is issued on the phone, users will have the usual options of say if it is something useful or not

, so that in the future these notifications will continue to be issued or would just cease to be issued. If you open this notification on the phone, it takes you to the app of the same to see this birthday.

This notification from Google Assistant is displayed only in those contacts saved in Google. So if you don’t have contacts saved in Google, with their birthday indicated, the assistant will not issue any notification on your phone. This new feature will save you from having to manually enter the birthdays of your friends or family in the calendar application on your phone. In addition to preventing you from forgetting that birthday.

For now, few users have access to this notification on their phones. Google is expected to roll out the feature broadly soon, first in English, before it hits Spain. No release dates have been given yet.

The entry Google Assistant will remind you of the birthdays of your contacts appears first in The Free Android.
