Gmail makes it easy to copy and paste email addresses to email recipients

Android has come a long way when it comes to productivity, although there are still mundane tasks for which a mouse and keyboard are still missing, such as manipulating texts. The latest version of Gmail tries to shorten distances with a better way to copy the recipients of an email.

Android has a complicated relationship with the clipboard, which instead of being a fast Control + C and Control + V, as in the PC, requires long touches, and text selections that are sometimes frustrating. Gmail now makes the matter easier with a quick way to copy and paste recipients in a mail.

Copy Gmail recipients easily

Gmail allows you to manipulate the recipients of a new email that you have been writing since time immemorial, although the process has changed over time. I recently copied an email address iIt meant making a long tap on the name, at which point a dialog with the email address is displayed and then press again Copy.

The process is effective, although unless you start making random touches on the interface, it is not easy to know that the option exists. What’s more, you could only go one by oneSo if you want to copy five email addresses, for example to put them in the CC or Bcc field, the process is tremendously repetitive.

Old mode The old way of copying email addresses from Gmail

This changes with the latest version of Gmail or, rather, the latest Google experiment, as it seems that it is a novelty that is being activated from the server side. Instead of having to do long touches, tapping on an email address a context menu opens in the fields.

The name, photo of the contact (if any) and two options are then displayed: copy or remove. If you touch on Copy, the email address is copied to the clipboard. If you touch on Put off, this recipient is removed from the list.

Copy and copy all The new way

Perhaps the most interesting thing about this new interface, apart from the fact that it is easier for users to discover and take advantage of it, is that, if there are several recipients, then the menu appears Copy all recipients, which copies all email addresses to the clipboard. After doing so, you can paste them into another field, another email or basically any other application that supports sending text.
