Galaxy Tab S6 Lite receives Android 11 with One UI 3.1 and receives Samsung DeX desktop mode

When it comes to buying an Android tablet in Spain, Samsung is one of the most solid options both due to its economic models and the highest range. Among its extensive catalog, one of the models that most caught our attention during the past year was the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.

This tablet is beginning to receive its update to Android 11 with the One UI 3.1 customization layer, and it brings some surprise among its novelties.

The update has already begun its rollout of updates to Android 11 with One UI 3.1 (including Spain, according to Samsung itself), an update that includes all the general news from Android and Samsung, but with an extra surprise feature.

When we analyzed the S6 Lite it seemed to us a great product that had mainly two weaknesses: its power closer to the mid-range and the absence of high-end features like Samsung DeX. The update of this tablet has included Samsung’s desktop mode by surprise.

Samsung has added DeX in its latest update. The mode will appear in the quick settings as in the rest of Samsung tablets, and pressing it will change the interface of the tablet to an interface similar to that of a PC. At the moment, this feature is limited to its use on the tablet, it is not clear yet that we can connect it to a monitor or television. Considering you haven’t gotten the external monitor feature for Windows 10 computers, we wouldn’t bet much on it either.

Between the fact that the update has arrived ahead of time (it was scheduled for May 2021), that this model is confirmed to receive 3 major Android updates (it would reach Android 13) and that it has 4 years of security updates for the 319 Euros that it costs right now, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a safe bet for students or people looking for an excellent tablet for multimedia, with SPen and long-term support.
