Reinventing design and keeping the best

With the introduction of the A50 series, Samsung introduced theglasstic as a new material for its devices in the A range. Behind this bombastic name was hidden a plastic that imitated glass, combining the finish premium of glass with the advantages of plastic: lighter weight and greater resistance and durability.

In this new generation we keep this material, but it adapts to the trend of matte finishes as the company already did with the Galaxy S21. This finish is not only softer to the touch, but it also camouflages grease stains better, keeping it looking good without the need to continually clean it.

Although 6.5 inches may seem like a large screen size, its 20: 9 aspect ratio makes it narrow enough to be very comfortable to handle. Its 189 grams of weight also contributes to not being excessively uncomfortable to use.

The inclusion of a headphone jack port stands out, a port that Samsung already abandoned two generations ago in its high-end range and that despite everything, maintains the sense in these more affordable phones.

In this sense, the Galaxy A52 offers more versatility when it comes to extensions, since it also maintains the microSD card reader, being able to expand up to 1 TB of additional space.

Nor does it renounce the chargerAlthough the company is committed to withdrawing it from its products, they indicate that it is still important to keep it in the Galaxy A, considering that many users of the A range are new smartphone users and that it is likely that they do not yet have a charger. .

The camera is one of the fundamental aspects of the mobile experience, and although we have not been able to do exhaustive tests so far, it is a promising camera. We have a total of 5 photographic sensors, although two of them do not have a great impact on the photographic experience (depth and macro).

We have already seen the 64 Mpx main sensor in several of the brand’s mobiles and the 12 Mpx ultra-wide-angle camera is promising in our first tests. The 32MP front camera also looks great and can record 4K video.

A mobile that brings many of the luxuries of the high range

Since the launch of the A50s, one of the purposes of this range has been to get as close as possible to a high-end experience while maintaining a moderate price. To achieve this experience there are two types of approaches, using maximum power or adding other characteristics. Samsung has chosen this second route.

The most fundamental feature would be on the screen. In this price range, it is normal that we have to choose between a screen with high image quality or a high refresh rate. The Super AMOLED screen of the A52 5G is one of the few that in this range does not give everything. It does not reach the degree of excellence of the Galaxy S, but considering its price it is sensational.

Another key improvement is in the sound. We have two stereo speakers that, although they could have a more powerful maximum volume, offer very good quality. We also keep the fingerprint reader on the screen, which is optical.

Water resistance is another of the key pillars that are usually destined for the high-end range, and the A52s are IP 67 certified, a degree of resistance that allows the device not to be damaged when submerged in water up to one meter. It is not a protection designed so that we can submerge the mobile so happily, but to prevent the mobile from breaking in the event of any unforeseen event.

Starting at 349 euros for the 4G version (with a Snapdragon 720G processor instead of 750G and a refresh rate of 90 Hz) and this model starting at 429 euros, the Galaxy A52s are positioned as one of the most attractive mobiles for 2021. Our first The impression has been extremely positive, but as we spend the days testing it we will be able to tell you how the experience went from a more specific perspective.
