Just a few days ago the first images of the Google Pixel 6 were filtered, which are expected with a Google’s own processor. These will come to be, one more year, references on camera, with a very significant change in the sensor.
After years recycling the camera sensor, something we will talk about in the following lines, Google will bet on one of the best sensors on the market. In addition, for the first time, it will have a periscope sensor, according to the leaked information.
Google has been recycling Sony’s IMX363 since Google Pixel 3, sensor that mount phones like the Redmi 8A or the Mi 8 Lite. Despite having this sensor on the Google Pixel 5 and its younger siblings, Google has managed in recent years to get its place on the podium of mobile cameras.

According to leaks, the Google Pixel 6 Pro will feature a 50 megapixel Sony sensor, probably the same IMX766 that mobile phones like the OPPO Find X3 Pro. This is a fairly large sensor that, along with Google’s computational photography, should get great results.
This sensor will be accompanied, according to this information, an eight megapixel periscope lens, which would allow the Pixel 6 Pro to zoom up to five times optically. In the same way, an ultra wide angle would arrive and a sensor for color correction. There is not much information on this latest lens, but it is a technology that we have not seen in high-end yet.
