The new version of Firefox for Android introduces a number of new functions in the browser, with which to continue improving the experience of using it. There are two main novelties that Mozilla leaves us in this new version of it: download page and tabs with automatic closing.
The new Firefox for Android already has PC extensionsFirefox for Android has been updated to version 79, a version that adds its new Gecko engine and the most popular PC extensions.
Firefox 81 comes to Android devices
The main novelty that we find in Firefox 81 for Android is the introduction of a download page in the browser itself. This page will allow you to see the files that you have downloaded to your phone in the browser itself. Therefore, you will not have to open the file explorer on your mobile to view or manage these downloaded files. You just have to open the side menu and enter Downloads.
In addition, Mozilla has introduced in passing support for third-party download managers. It is not a new function, because it was present in previous versions of the browser, so it is more of a return to it thanks to this version 81. A return that many will welcome.
On the other hand, Firefox for Android also introduces the “Open in app” function, which is a new menu option designed for those web pages with an Android application that you have installed on your mobile. So when you enter that site, the application will open on the phone directly. The browser also introduces the possibility of automatically closing tabs after a time, which the user establishes.
Mozilla has introduced the new Google API, which allows you to rate the application without leaving it. An API that Google itself began to distribute weeks ago. From the side menu of the browser it will be possible to rate it, without having to go to the Play Store. The new version of the browser is already being deployed in the Play Store, although these news may not have reached you yet, they should arrive these days:
The Firefox entry for Android is updated with the download page and automatic closing of tabs appears first in The Free Android.
