Last year we lived with the cancellation of the Barcelona MWC, the first of the great impacts that the pandemic caused by COVID-19 was going to leave in Spain and in the world. Although many saw the decision as alarmist, it was proven to be a wise move given what happened next.

The Swedish company has announced that it will not attend the MWC in Barcelona because in its opinion the safety of its workers and employees must override the interests of the company.
Although the GSMA had announced measures to hold the event in person, in Ericsson they believe that these decisions do not guarantee the safety of the attendees, so they prefer not to attend.
Will there be more cancellations?

There are three months until the celebration of MWC 2021 (it will take place between June 28 and July 1) and still more companies may fall, after having broken the Ericsson ice. It would not be strange that this year the event was also canceled, given that by the beginning of summer only half of the population will be vaccinated in Spain, being very optimistic. And that’s taking into account that people from dozens of different countries go to these types of fairs, with tremendously different vaccination protocols.
