Microsoft has released a new update for Edge within the Dev Channel. The advanced medium browser within the development channels reach version 95.0.1011.1, an update that comes, unlike the latest updates, with a good number of improvements.
In this sense, Edge users in the Dev Channel now have the ability to hide button extensions, option to hide picture-in-picture overlay controls (PiP) on macOS, the ability to autocomplete custom data by default, and more changes that we now go through.
Improvements and changes
- The read-aloud controls sometimes don’t work.
- Fixed an issue where collections might not be sorted correctly.
- Fixed a crash at Edge startup.
- Fixed a crash on startup when certain extensions are installed.
- Fixed a crash when switching profiles.
- Fixed a crash when switching languages in Settings.
- Fixed a crash when logging into a website.
- It corrects a crash when using Smart Copy.
- Fixed a crash when using Application Guard.
- Fixed an issue where the button to close a tab was sometimes not visible when the vertical tab panel was too narrow.
- Fixed an issue where the spell checker would sometimes trigger even when disabled.
- Fixed an issue where Smart Copy copies more of what is selected.
- Fixed an issue where debug.log files would sometimes mysteriously appear on the device.
- They have been enabled, by default, improvements in Windows Task Manager when running on Windows 11.
- The default is enabled ability to autocomplete data customized.
- Mobile support for natural voices to read aloud on Android.
- The Surf game has been enabled on Android.
- Policies have been added to set an opening width setting for the Internet Explorer integration window and an opening height setting for the Internet Explorer integration window, which add additional pixels to the size of pop-up windows opened from tabs IE mode.
- Added a policy to control whether visual search is enabled, which controls the reverse image search.

- A policy has been added to control the shadow stack lock rollback behavior, which controls whether the hardware-enforced stack guard security feature on certain devices should be enabled after a lock is triggered.
- Support has been enabled for the Chromium policy to control whether Browser Legacy Extension Point Blocking is enabled, which controls whether legacy extensions can load code into the main browser process for compatibility with other applications.
- For developers, support has been added for No Frame Merging tabs in IE mode.
- Also for developers, added support for the navigator.share API in PWA on Mac OS.
Remember that this version already shows the improvements that have been previously tested in the Canary Channel. You can now download the new Edge at this link in any of the channels on the platforms on which it is available. If you already have it installed, just go to preferences within the browser and check if you have any pending updates.
