Discord has become one of the leading messaging applications in Spain, especially among profile usersgamer, thanks to features such as the ability to create practically all the voice chat rooms we want.
The application continues to improve little by little, and has just added one of my favorite features of the PC version, being the ability to share our screen during calls and video calls on the platform. We explain how it works and what it is for.
Sharing your mobile screen on Discord is now possible
As a voice communication service applied to gaming, the minimum we ask of applications like Discord is good sound quality, the lowest possible latency and that the service works with stability, aspects in which Discord more than fulfills. But the company seeks to take the experience of its application further.
Share screen It was a characteristic that when it was presented did not catch my attention, but that in recent months I recognize that it has given us many funny moments. Thanks to this feature, anyone can build their ownstreaming private on your channel, a broadcast that only those who are on that channel can see.

This allows, for example, if we are a group of friends we can follow the game of one who is playing and comment on it as if we were all in their living room, but respecting the social distancing measures.
Since the last update, Discord has added this feature for mobile devices. This functionality has been in beta for a few days and is already beginning to be rolled out for all users. Using the screen sharing tool is as simple as following these steps:
- We open Discord.
- We got into a call.
- In the drop-down menu that opens when entering the call, 5 lower buttons will appear, which are (from left to right):
- Camera:Activate video calls with the mobile camera.
- Icon of a mobile and an arrow:This is the new button for screen sharing.
- Microphone:To mute the microphone of our mobile.
- Speaker:Mute the audio of the call.
- Red phone: Hang up.
After pressing the second button, we will enter the menu that indicates that we are sharing the screen. From here we can activate the camera so that our face is seen while we play, as well as stop sharing screen, mute the microphone or hang up.
As a final tip when broadcasting, the mobile is a place where notifications may show a lot of personal information. Don’t forget to activate do not disturb mode to prevent your friends from gossiping with every new message you receive.
