Day and Night: a new way to activate Google Assistant routines

Both Alexa and the Google Assistant have become widely used pieces of software in Spain. Rare is the home that does not already have one of the speakers of one of those companies.

In addition, the two smart assistants can be used on mobile phones, although in this space Google’s has a clear advantage. And it is right there where we have begun to see a new function being deployed in a set, for now, reduced of users.

Sunrise and sunset as triggers of routines

For several months now, we have at our disposal the possibility of activating several commands simultaneously in the Google assistant. For this we have to select a voice command, or a time of day, and then the actions that we want to be executed. They are the routines.

Not long ago, these routines were updated to be able to detect our presence, so that we could activate the lights when we got home, for example.

Well, Google is working on a new way to run that command compendium. Some users on Reddit have seen how when creating routines they can choose the time of sunset or sunrise as a trigger.

This is perfect for turning the lights on or off at home, whether we’re on the road or us.

In addition, we can configure these routines a lot, indicating the days that we want them to be activated, if we want it to happen just at the moment when the sun rises or sets or something before or after, etc.

We hope that this new function will arrive in Spain shortly since it seems most practical to us.
