APN is the acronym for the expression in English Access Point Name, or what is the same, name of the access point. This information is essential for a device, be it a mobile phone or a modem, to be able to access the data network. Usually this setting is done automatically when you insert a SIM card. However, it may sometimes be necessary to define this value manually. How can you do it yourself?
Modifying the APN on an Android device is very simple. First, access the system settings and enter SIM card & mobile data. The name of this section may vary depending on the manufacturer.
Enter the SIM settings.
Tap on Access point name.
Tap the + (plus) symbol to add the APN.
Enter the data provided by your operator and confirm to save the changes. Generally, you only need to modify the APN field.
If you want to delete an existing APN, access its information.
So, tap on Delete to remove it.
In this simple way you can modify the APN on an Android phone.
As we have already mentioned, the data necessary for the Internet connection are provided by the operator itself. Next, you have a list with the main APNs in the event that you cannot locate this information. Some do not have a username and password. In that case, both fields must be left empty.
