When Windows 11 hit the market, not a few voices complained about the requirements that Microsoft demanded to try the new version of Windows. It did not take long for indications related to a possible reduction in those requirements, an aspect that Microsoft has clarified.
Microsoft has published a new clarification so that there are no doubts about the requirements that a team must meet to use Windows 11. Without changes with respect to what we already know, the news comes when they refer to the installing Windows 11 on unsupported computers, which will not have updates neither new features nor security.
Microsoft has published a article on your blog in which it clarifies all the necessary requirements to use Windows 11. Some aspects do not change and thus it will be necessary to have compatible 64-bit processors, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, UEFI secure boot and TPM 2.0.
There are no changes in the compatible boards and in relation to processors, Microsoft has updated the list of Intel, AMD and Qualcomm, adding compatible models. Now Intel Core X and Xeon W series are included as compatible, also the Intel Core 7820HQ, while AMD and Qualcomm keep the same list of compatible models.
Microsoft argues that these changes are due to reliability reasons, but also security and compatibility. In the first case, reliability, the company states that “Devices that do not meet the minimum system requirements had 52% more kernel mode failures”, while “Devices meeting the minimum system requirements had a 99.8% crash-free experience”.
This panorama leaves many teams marked with the tag of not compatible. Equipment that will not be able to be updated, at least officially, because they do not meet the minimum requirements. That does not prevent a user from install a Windows 11 ISO, a feasible process but one that Microsoft, in statements to The Verge, warns that it will have consequences.

And it is that together with those derived from the lack of compatibility or operating problems, Microsoft adds that these teams they will not receive critical security updates or updates with new features. A whole jug of cold water for those who were thinking of venturing out on their own.
