Small but bully

Find compact Android phones it is difficult and that they are also powerful and compact, an impossible mission. ASUS has decided to venture into this niche with the ASUS Zenfone 8, a powerful and compact Android mobile that has everything you would expect in a current high-end, but small.

The terminal mounts a 5.9-inch diagonal AMOLED display, with Full HD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. As it does not have a rotating camera as in other recent Zenfones, this time the company has opted for a hole in one of the corners of the screen. The fingerprint reader is located under the screen.

How small is the ASUS Zenfone 8? It measures exactly 148 x 68.5 x 8.9 millimeters. The only recent Android terminals that resemble it in size are the Samsung Galaxy A41, the Google Pixel 4a and Android Go terminals like Galaxy A01 Core. The main difference between them is that the ASUS Zenfone 8 is compact and powerful.

In its small body is included the Snapdragon 888 and up to 16GB of RAM In the maximum version, in addition to there are variants with 6 and 8 GB, in all cases LPDDR5. Storage is available in two versions: 128 GB or 256 GB, without the possibility of expanding with a MicroSD.

Dual camera that does not rotate

Few lenses fit into the small body, and the ASUS Zenfone 8 bets on quality rather than quantity. In front it mounts a 12 megapixel camera and f / 2.45 aperture, perforated on the screen. Behind, it has a module dual camera with 64 megapixel f / 1.8 main sensor and a 12 megapixel wide angle that doubles functions as macro. The three lenses are signed by Sony (IMX686 the main sensor, IMX363 and IMX663 the secondary and front, respectively).

As for the battery, ASUS has managed to accommodate 4,000 mAh capacity and with support for fast charging of 30W. Other noteworthy data of this terminal are the IP68 certification, the stereo speakers, the NFC and Dual GPS or the support for external NTFS hard drives.

Versions and prices of the ASUS Zenfone 8

The ASUS Zenfone 8 is available in the colors Obsidian Black (black) and Horizon Silver (gray) and with versions with 6, 8 and 16 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. Your starting price will be from 599 euros.
