Segment mobile specialized in games or gaming adds new contenders to the podium of the most powerful smartphones: Asus presents its new ROG Phone 5 range. Loaded with features, with software designed to maximize the multimedia experience and prepared to delight the most ‘gamer’.
Asus was one of the brands that first bet on the gaming mobile segment, phones designed to offer maximum power in games. And it has not gone bad since the brand presents the new evolution in the range, the Asus ROG Phone 5. Three different models, up to 18 GB of RAM and a table of characteristics worthy of the segment premium.

The mobiles designed to squeeze the graphics in games are the best for those who are looking for maximum power in their phone. And Asus goes a step further by including large capacities for its memories and storage, also quickly. In fact, The Asus ROG Phone 5 Ultimate is the first mobile to include 18 GB of RAM. An exaggeration that gives an idea of how far the new Asus go in terms of performance.
The processor in charge of giving life to the ROG Phone 5 is the Snapdragon 888, the latest from Qualcomm. This is joined by the LPDDR5 RAM (from 8 to 18 GB) and the UFS 3.1 storage (from 128 to 512 GB). All three ROG Phone 5s include a 6,000 mAh battery (two 3,000 mAh battery modules each), 65 W fast charging, dual SIM, they are compatible with 5G networks, WiFi 6E and have two USB C 3.1 connectors. The second connector is intended for use with gaming accessories.

The screen of the phones is another of its jewels: 6.78 inches AMOLED with FHD + resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate, 300Hz sample rate and HDR10 + compliant. The resolution may be somewhat fair given the category of the phone, also if the diagonal of the screen is taken into account. And with a curious detail: the Asus ROG Phone 5 Pro and Ultimate have a second rear screen
(monochrome) that allows to be personalized by the user. And they keep the touch areas on the right side of the mobile to configure them as triggers.
The deployment of technical weaponry dumped on the multimedia experience is overwhelming, but Asus does not neglect the capture: the ROG Phone 5 comes well equipped with sensors, lenses and software. Without exaggeration in multiplicity: 64 megapixel main camera, 13 megapixel wide angle and a third 5 megapixel sensor with a macro lens. Ahead, the mobiles include a 24-megapixel front camera outside the screen, in the upper frame. In this frame the second front speaker is accommodated: The Asus ROG Phone 5 have dual stereo speakers.
The software is also important, not in vain Asus not only offers a gaming machine, but also a door to personalize the experience with these games. Therefore, it is possible to configure the power of the device, associate touches on the screen to the triggers, the games area includes a multitude of tools to avoid distractions and many more options. All with a sufficiently clean layer and supported on Android 11.
The three mobiles are practically identical in performance and the same in dimensions and weight. It differs in available RAM, storage, in the inclusion of the second monochrome screen and in the colors chosen for the exterior design.
Asus has introduced the ROG Phone 5 internationally, also in China. The mobiles will be distributed in the usual markets in the coming weeks. We still do not know the exact date, also their prices: we will update the article as Asus communicates this data.
