Apple embraces the future of video games in a strange way and invents a feature for Android

In recent weeks we have seen how Apple shot itself in the foot, banning the streaming of video games on its iPhone and iPads, a decision that left those from Cupertino out of a sector that for many represents the future of video games, both in Spain and in the rest of the world.

The company has rectified by changing its app store rules in a move that allows developers to implement its streaming services. The change puts Apple back into play, in a more uncomfortable condition for developers and users, but one that nevertheless keeps an advantage.

Apple now allows game streaming but it’s still worse than Android

In the last hours Apple has modified the rules of its application store in order to allow iPhone and iPad players to enjoy the future of video games that we could already have on Android without having to do anything.

When Apple banned this technology, it claimed that the interfaces of the catalogs of these services had the appearance of being a store, which was damaging the Apple ecosystem, “confusing users”.

Whether or not you are right, Apple has decided to fix your problem by following this premise. This solution is absurd, and it is that it will allow streaming games, but each game must be an individual application that can have access to Apple’s screen time and parental controls.

What does this mean? Let’s use, for example, Microsoft and its Game Pass Ultimate service, which allows us to play a huge catalog of games. If Microsoft has 100 games, you will have to create a separate application in the Apple store for each of the games, which will behave similarly to any other application and will also have to be individually approved by Apple.

A brilliant example of stubbornness.

The iOS bug could be a feature on Android

Distributing each game as a standalone app at first seems like a hassle, but nonetheless in that annoyancethere is a possibility to implement a function.

To this day, streaming video game apps for Android follow the procedure of Open the application-> Find the game-> Select the game -> Play. It is a tedious process, especially for those titles that we play frequently.

Treat each streaming game as a separate appit could be a good idea in view of adding a feature in applications such as Xbox or Stadia, having the possibility of creating shortcuts or even widgets that allow us to speed up the process.

The input Apple accepts the future of the video game in a strange way and invents a feature for Android appears first in The Free Android.
