Android 12 leaks: new interface, widgets and functions

In the last few days we had started to see some information about Android 12. Google was updating some applications related to its development, which made us think that in a few weeks, or a few months, we would see the first beta.

What we did not expect was to see images of the system leaked in February. In XDA they have had access to them and although they cannot guarantee that it is the final version of Android, we have to admit that they look very good.

The screenshots show us some of the supposed functions that the system will have. Despite everything, we must be aware that it is not even a beta, so we could see many changes before the final version is released in the second half of the year.

New interface and contact widgets

The first thing that catches your eye are the colors and the new design, much more elegant and even futuristic than what we have seen so far. It is possible that these earth tones are not more than one of the possible combinations in the supposed visual editor that Android 12 would have.

In addition, in the screenshot on the left you can see the new contact widgets, which allow you to perform quick actions from the desktop.

These widgets would even appear in the notification area, although there is surely work to be done here, because the appearance is somewhat strange.

Android 12 will warn you if the camera or microphone is used

Another function that has been seen is one that imitates, with good judgment, iOS. When the camera or microphone is activated, we will see a notice at the top of the screen, with a green area for the camera and orange for the microphone.

In addition, there are settings in which we can completely disable both the camera and the microphone of all apps.

First steps for manufacturers

All this information has come out of a document created by Google for Android manufacturers, so that they can start working on the new version of the system on their mobiles and increase the speed of updates when the final version is released.

Android 12 input leaks: new interface, widgets and functions appear first in The Free Android.
