Amazon is one of the largest companies in the world, with tentacles that go far beyond e-commerce. However, the company still led by Jeff Bezos has not become what it is by behaving like other companies.
This has been demonstrated again with the launch of its new crowdfunding program, called Build It, but which is not currently available in Spain.
The new project has been presented and is called Build It. It is designed to be able to develop new devices in a safe way since users make purchases long before the product arrives.
What’s more, it will only be sent if a specific number of reservations is reached, as happens on platforms such as Indigogo or KickStarter, thus guaranteeing that the launch will be profitable.
It is strange to see Amazon using a strategy designed for small businesses but it makes sense given that the showcase that is its online store can bring together thousands of users interested in a device and have it manufactured without risk.
The launch of the Build It project has been carried out with three smart devices, all three with integration with Alexa, as expected:
The smart sticky note printer will cost $ 89.99, the smart scale will retail for $ 34.99, and the cuckoo clock for $ 79.99. At the moment they can only be purchased in the United States.
Interested parties have one month (until March 19) to show their interest in the product, which would be shipped to buyers between July and September.
The Amazon entry mimics KickStarter with Build It: three new smart products appear first on The Free Android.
