In the summer of 2019 Amazfit, one of Huami’s firms, presented one of its most iconic smartwatches, the Amazfit GTR. This product was the evolution of smart bracelets, although if we looked at its technical characteristics we did not see big differences beyond the style and screen size.
Today the Amazfit GTR 2, the second model of this family, with so many changes that, now, we can say that it is a leap to take into account.

A sleeker new design
The main change we see in the Amazfit GTR 2 is its design. Now we have a more elegant aesthetic, without the crown of the previous model. The 1.39-inch screen, which has the same 454 x 454 px resolution, appears somewhat larger as it has hardly any borders. OLED technology is maintained but improves the quality of the panel.
A second sensor now appears at the rear, along with the pulse measurement sensor. It is the blood oxygen saturation meter, something that is becoming very fashionable.
Great autonomy and new functions
The battery is just over 470 mAh and promises about 14 days between charges, that is, the same as competing watches like the Huawei Watch GT 2.
It is also similar to this in that it is capable of being used to answer and make calls thanks to the integration of a microphone and a speaker.
We can listen to music by implementing internal memory, although the capacity has not yet been confirmed. For the number of songs announced it is possible that they are 4 GB.
Other features such as sleep measurement, water resistance, and more are maintained on this model.
We can pay with the mobile
One of the biggest differences of this model with rivals that do not use full operating systems (such as the Apple Watch or watches with Wear OS) is that in this case we do have NFC to make mobile payments.
Of course, it also has Wifi and bluetooth 5.
Price and availability of the Amazfit GTR 2
Huami has yet to announce the price of its new smartwatch but we will update the article as soon as we know. We know that it will go on sale in China and we hope it will do the same in Spain.
