Xiaomi has patented a smartphone with solar panel on its back. Through Letsgodigital renders, seen in Dfaho, we can get an idea of this new Xiaomi record: a “normal” naked eye phone, but with a peculiar back.
The objective would be clear: achieve solar recharging of the battery, something that would allow us to have practically unlimited battery during daytime hours, by constantly recharging the device. The idea is not new at all, and it is that already in 2010 there was a Samsung solaralthough it has rained quite a bit since then.

As we always indicate, patents are nothing more than the registration of an idea by a brand, so we have no guarantee that it will materialize. Despite this, it is curious to know that Xiaomi has patented a device with a generous solar panel on its back.
This rear of the terminal is occupied almost entirely by the different cells that make up the plate, although there is room for the camera, so it would not be a terminal so different from the rest. The patent also reads on an all-screen panel, a la Mi Mix 4, and with a fairly slim body.
The great challenge here, beyond the striking of the idea, is the operation of the panel. When you will recharge the battery, how you will avoid overcharging, how the temperature of the battery and the terminal itself will be managed if it is exposed to the sun for a long time, etc. The patent does not put more than the idea on the table, although there are no details about its operation.
