The range of TCL devices in Spain grew at a good pace in 2020, when they also left us with their first tablets. The manufacturer continues to bet on tablets in its presentation at CES 2021, where they leave us with an interesting model. It is the TCL NXTPAPER, a tablet that makes use of the brand’s own NXTPAPER technology.
This NXTPAPER technology stands out for presenting a full color screen similar to paperBut it is also capable of playing videos at relatively high fps speeds. The TCL NXTPAPER becomes the brand’s first tablet to use this technology.

A single panel
The panel of this TCL NXTPAPER it is basically a reflective LCD screen low-power that, according to the company, reuses natural light, eliminating backlighting. This panel is also 36% thinner than a common LCD panel, but offers higher contrast and 65% more energy efficiency. Also, the brand says that this screen has no flickering or blue light which is annoying to the eyes. This way you will have a viewing experience as similar to the role as possible.
This panel can be seen as an LCD screen with the brightness set at a very low level. The tablet can be used comfortably in all kinds of light conditions, also when it is dark or in bad light. Although it is necessary to have a source of light to be able to use it properly, therefore, TCL includes a clip lamp with this tablet, to continue using it also at night.
This new TCL NXTPAPER is capable of playing videos at 30 fps, in addition, the brand says that in the future it would be possible to play at 60 fps. This is a good speed for a tablet with an e-ink screen. So users can enjoy videos at all times when they are using it.
Price and availability
This new TCL NXTPAPER will go on sale in Europe in April. There have been no specific countries, but it is expected that we will be able to buy this tablet in Spain as well. It will go on sale with a price of 349 euros at its launch in Europe.
