Amazfit smartwatches continue to multiply. After the Amazfit GTR 2 and Amazfit GTS 2 came the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini and now we have a new variant, a little cheaper: the new Amazfit GTS 2e and Amazfit GTR 2e.

At first glance, it is difficult to distinguish these “e” models from the normal ones, although the differences are there. On the one hand, autonomy doubles arriving at two weeks. On the other hand, Wi-Fi connectivity is lost.

More battery and thermometer, but no Wi-Fi

If you are familiar with the second generation of Amazfit GTS and Amazfit GTR, you already know 90% of the Amazfit GTR 2e and Amazfit GTS 2e, and that is to the naked eye they are practically identical. Two smart watches: one with a 1.39-inch circular screen, the other with a 1.65-inch rectangular screen.

However, there are small differences in its design. The screen has a 2.5D curved glass instead of 3D and the case is aluminum alloy, instead of stainless steel. In addition, they are available in different colors to those of the Amazfit GTS and GTR 2.

As you would expect, both watches can record your sports activities, monitor your pulse continuously, measure your sleep and the blood oxygen saturation level or SpO2. Both have a resistance of 5 ATM. A sensor that is not in the standard models is the ambient temperature sensor, which turns these watches into “thermometers”.

The positive change comes in the autonomy, which increases considerably despite the fact that the battery capacity is maintained. The 471 mAh of the Amazfit GTR 2e give now for 24 days of autonomy instead of the 14 days of the normal model, and the 246 mAh of the Amazfit GTS 2e has a typical duration of 14 days, instead of the week of the Amazfit GTS 2.

Not everything is good news, and it is that the Amazfit GTS 2e and Amazit GTR 2e lose Wi-Fi connectivity, so their “intelligence” depends on being connected to the mobile via Bluetooth. What is not lost is the microphone or the support for the Assistant, although there is no mention now of Alexa, but of the Assistant of the house. The NFC remains, at least in China.
