One of the brands that has been having the most impact in Spain in recent months is realme. Oppo’s quality / price-focused sub-brand is expanding its product range beyond smartphones, with products like headphones and smartwatches.
With the arrival of the very powerful realme 7 5G and the realme Air Buds Pro, the brand has brought to Spain its new smartwatch, known as realme Watch S.

The best realme watch arrives in Spain
A few months ago we had the opportunity to test the first realme smartwatch, a device that, although due to its features and software, was not spectacular, its extremely low price positioned it as one of the most recommended alternatives at the lowest possible price (and more at the moment that is on offer at 35 euros).
And now it has actually presented its new model in Spain, which we have been testing for a few days. It is a watch that can be purchased on December 3 at a price of 79.99 euros, a very attractive price. But is it capable of complying with the rest of the sections?

Is the Realme Watch S worth it?If you are looking for a competent smartwatch that includes all the health features we should demand and an exceptional build quality at a devastating price. It is a watch that is worth a look, and if you are curious to know all the details of this watch, we will tell you about them in the analysis that you can read below.
A very peculiar design
The realme Watch S is a smart watch that at the design level sends us a somewhat strange signal. It is a product that is totally premium in terms of finish, despite being a low-cost device.
We have an aluminum in a dark gray hue that shows that it is very well built. We have two physical buttons with a classic cut and very good pulsation, giving a feeling of durability. In this aspect it is great.
The front is all glass, as is usual in many smartwatches. We have a wide frame that will act as a minute hand in the case that we use an analog clock face, and an LCD screen with a fairly fair quality. It looks perfect indoors and correct outdoors, but it is far from spectacular.
The inner part is made of a very soft plastic and we have biometric sensors and magnetic charging pins, which are easily attached to the charging base.
The rubber strap is simple, and fortunately it is compatible with the 22 millimeter standard. As usual, the first thing I did was change the strap to my nylon strap that I use on my personal watch without any problem.
A very simple installation
The installation of the realme Watch S is one of the easiest that we have had the pleasure of enjoying. At the moment of turning on the watch, a QR code appears, which if we scan from the mobile it will direct us to a realme website. From here, we can access the realme Link application, either through a link to the Google Play Store or by downloading the official Realme APK. Although our favorite option is the Google store, it is great that they offer a direct route to get the application.
Once installed, we will have to create a realme account yes or yes, and we can begin the linking of the watch. Press the add button, the clock will automatically appear on top and when you press it, it will be linked. A very easy and simple experience.
There are a couple of details in the software that could be defined ascrappy, and is that applications such as the remote camera trigger, notifications or the application to control multimedia are disabled by default. At first after finishing the installation, if you try to use these applications from the clock, you will not be able to use them and if you are not attentive you may even think that it is a software error.
What kind of joke is this?
It is not the only shabby thing, and there are translations that are directly a shame. Cricket, for example, is called Cricket. In English, both the sport and the insect are written the same, but it is inconceivable, giving the feeling that they do not stay
The realme Watch S as a technology and health product
The realme Watch S system has been designed by realme. It is a simple system that accepts gesture controls but does not have any type of animation, leaving the feeling of being a product that at the level of user experience design is a decade ago.At least the simplicity is compensated with battery, having had an average consumption of 5% per day. Realme assures me that it lasts 15 days, and we are confident that it can be that way.
We have several spheres to change by holding down the main screen, although from the Realme Link application we can download new spheres.
If we slide sideways we will have widgets to view our daily activity, time, sleep record (it is automatically saved when sleeping with the watch), heart rate history (the watch is capable of continuous monitoring 24 hours a day) and quick settings.
If we slide from above we can access the notifications of those applications that we have marked to receive notifications. The icon and message of each notification will appear, and to eliminate it we will have to open the message and press the button. No swiping controls.
The application menu appears with icons and practically no descriptive symbols that make it clear to us which application we are going to end up opening. You can get an idea from the style of the icon, but they could have been clearer in the application launch. Regarding the applications that we can carry out.
- Applications:
- Oxygen in blood.
- Heart rate.
- Training history.
- Sleep record.
- Music control.
- Remote trigger of the mobile camera.
- Find my mobile.
- Breathing.
- Alarm.
- Chronometer.
- Time.
- Timer
Health tracking in the realme Link app.
- Sports:

- Indoor cycling.
- “Elliptical trainer” (elliptical trainer).
- Yoga.
- “Grillo” (cricket).

Regarding the sports section, the monitoring is good. We do not have built-in GPS, but the watch will be able to take the GPS signal from the mobile to track activity. It is an interesting option, as long as you are able to go out to train with your mobile phone in tow.
A not so round product with serious rivals
In its price range, and given its technical characteristics, we believe that the leading watch to beat is the Huawei Watch Fit, a product that for a little more has a screen that looks much better and with a focus on health and exercise much more powerful. The realme Watch S has as a great asset its price and design, but it seems that in terms of software it still needs a lot to prove. At their same price, watches like the Amazfit Bip S are also a great alternative for their transflective display, but again, it really comes out ahead in terms of design.
realme has gotten a good watch, although its smart features are still far from the competition. Its strengths are the design, battery and health features at the lowest possible price. The savings to turn it into a productlow cost It clearly comes from a very unpolished software, and that is the biggest counterpart to opting for this watch.
