We are going to see with this method, another way to capture creatures, which will make us better trainers and with more resources. It is a relatively well-known method, but not everyone uses it.
What are bait modules?
Like Incense, it is a way to attract more Pokémon to the place that we have indicated, so that we have more opportunities to catch creatures without having to search the area so much. Baits attract a greater number of Pokémon, increasing spawn rates throughout the area, but be careful, because serve for all players present, so they are mutually beneficial.
Baits they work only in PokéStops. We must approach the one that interests us the most and open it to see an icon that allows us to anchor a bait. All baits have a duration of 30 minutes, except for some that are obtained in special investigations.
Types of bait modules and how they are obtained
Not only do we have a single type, but they are up to 4 variants of bait modules that we can anchor or open, in case another player has put it. Each one of them has characteristics and attracts some types of Pokémon based on those specifications. Let’s review them all and see how they can be achieved:
Normal Bait Module
It is the most generic of all. Its effect attracts Pokémon close and strangers, being ideal to increase our Pokédex. Unlocks at level 8 trainer and to achieve it, we must have 100 Pokécoins in the store or through a prize in raids or special investigations.
Glacier Bait Module
Its use is focused on attracting, as reflected by its typology, to Water and Ice-type Pokémon. Its main utility is that it is not necessary to place it in a PokéStop near water such as a lake, but that Niantic has placed it randomly snowflakes by different stops. Also, this bait can affect evolutions of certain Pokémon if we turn the Photodisk of the PokéStop. To achieve this, we must spend 200 Pokécoins or by completing missions in special investigations.
Mossy Bait Module
Its purpose is to attract and find Pokémon from Bug, Plant or Poison type. The PokéStops suitable for these baits are represented by a green leaf. It can also affect the evolutions of specific Pokémon if we turn the Photo Disc of the PokéStop. We must also spend 200 Pokécoins in the store or get it in special investigations.
Magnetic Bait Module
It is effective at attracting Pokémon from electric type, steel and rock. Its application is recognized by the confetti flaking around with silver and rectangular shapes. Like the others, this bait module has evolutionary properties in some Pokémon determined if we turn the Photodisk of the PokéStop. Likewise, if we have 200 Pokécoins we can buy it in the store, or complete missions in the special investigations of the Porfesor Willow.
How to use the bait modules in a PokéStop
It is a simple method that is easily automated. Of course, knowing how to master the application of a module in a PokéStop can make us one of the best trainers both in attracting and capturing creatures, as well as get other items like candy. Although it is an option that usually appears automatically on the screen when we approach a PokéStop, it may not always be the case.
On some occasions, if we want to use a module, the screen can show us a message type ‘can’t use this here’. In that case, we should not be alarmed, so we simply have to access the Poképarada in question, where we will see an option that displays a message of ’empty space, a module can be installed’. We add one of the bait modules that we have in Pokémon GO and we will only have to wait a bit.
