Amazon has become a giant of smart assistants. Although in Spain the use of the company’s speakers is on par with those of Google, in the United States, for example, the advantage of Jeff Bezos’s company is overwhelming.
But if there is one aspect in which this company does not have the reach of Google, it is in its application. It’s not bad at all, but Google tends to update and take better care of yours.
Despite that, we have seen news, such as integration with mobile apps or the one that Amazon announced today. The Alexa Android app integrates a new car mode, perfect for use in our vehicle.
Alexa has a simpler and easier to use interface
Like all interfaces for the car, this one has very large buttons and few options on the screen at the same time, to try to make sure that we look at the mobile as little as possible.
This new screen will be activated when we pair our mobile with the Amazon Echo Auto, and will show four sections: Home, Navigation, Communications and Play.
The first section, Start, It is a summary of the other three and we will have direct access to calls or to control the reproduction of what we are listening to on the mobile.
The second section is focused on the Navigation, and we can choose an address to go with our favorite map application. We could also go back to the Alexa app with a voice command.
In the section of Communications We can make phone calls but also make voice announcements from our car to the speakers in the house, perfect to announce that we are on the way.
The last place we have the section Reproduction, from which we can control what we are listening to and also access our latest playlists.
To these novelties are added others how to pay for gasoline from the application or use routines when we activate the car mode, but both were only available in the United States for the moment.
The entry The Alexa app now integrates a mode to use in the car appears first in The Free Android.
