As of late, Google seems to be taking minor Android platforms like Wear OS or Android TV seriously. The latter can be seen in the latest novelty that has reached Android televisions, one that was announced in the summer and that now reaches countries like Spain.
Android TV already has the Google keyboard, Gboard
Smart TVs have always had some type of keyboard emulation software, like the one used by mobiles, since you have to enter text to perform searches, enter usernames and passwords, etc.
Until now the version for Android televisions had a full keyboard but sometimes not very functional. This has changed with the arrival of Gboard on Android TV, the Google keyboard that gives us news such as voice dictation or text prediction.
In addition, we have a new interface with a much more compact design, similar to the one we have on mobile phones, so it will be easier to perform certain symbol searches, for example.
The Google keyboard is reaching many users who have seen how the default keyboard of their Android TV has been updated and replaced by it. The entire system did not need to be updated.
It may take a few weeks to get the new keyboard on all televisions, especially in international markets.
The Android TV input is updated by integrating Gboard, the Google keyboard appears first in The Free Android.
