Microsoft already has Xbox Game Pass Ultimate ready for Android, and from today we can play in Spain and 21 other countries.

What is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and what does it bring if you have an Android mobile
One of the approaches that Microsoft has been committed to for years is to turn the video game into a servicepremiumof entertainment. Their adventures began with Xbox Live Gold, a service that had to be paid for on their consoles to be able to play with other users on the internet, and little by little they have expanded the possibilities. Paying more, but offering much more in proportion.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the most powerful at the level of digital content, and it is that beyond the benefits of Xbox Live Gold it includes a game catalog that today has 172 quality games available for download on your console or PC. Or at least, this was until yesterday.
Without raising a penny, Microsoft has made Game Pass Ultimate compatible with Android, makingthat you can play all these games on your mobile. However, a mobile does not have the capacity to run these games, so they are run on an Xbox located in a remote data center. Through the internet, the games are displayed on your console and you can play on your mobile, tablet or even television, wherever you are.
Can I play all these Xbox games on my mobile even if I don’t have the console?
Yes absolutely. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate was born as a service intended for Xbox consoles and that later came to PC, which allowed us to download and play locally all the titles in the catalog. With the recent addition of cloud gaming, you can play all games on your mobile, even if you don’t have an Xbox One or a gaming PC. If you need to have a Microsoft account (old hotmail accounts are supported, and even the one I use is my old msn account from 20 years ago).
And what do I need?
- Essential:
- A mobile, tablet or Android TV (not officially supported, but it works) with Android 6 or higher.
- Good internet connection: Microsoft recommends Wi-Fi or mobile data with a constant speed greater than 10 Mbps. Keep in mind if you play with mobile data that your rate can drink several gigs in a matter of a few hours of play.
- Download the Xbox Game Pass app:
- Google Play.
- Samsung Galaxy Store.
- Almost essential: A controller connected by Bluetooth 4.0 or by cable. Some games are adapted for touch screen play, but there are very few.
- The Xbox controller is the one recommended by Microsoft, but we have also been able to play with the Stadia, 8Btido and Playstation 4 controllers (oh, the irony).
How much does it cost to play Xbox Game Pass
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is a subscription service that costs 13 euros per month, that if you pay it without discounts and during the 12 months you have 168 euros per year, a price slightly lower than buying about 3 new games a year. The first month costs 1 euro, so you can calmly test the platform and see if you like it enough to pay for the service. Of course, consider canceling any possible automatic renewal.
As we say at home,subscriptions are loaded by the devil. Although you can subscribe and play as much as you want, once the month passes for one euro they will begin to charge you 13 euros per month. If you have time to play and spend dozens of hours it is a subscription that is worth while you have titles, if you have a very busy life it may not be so convenient for you to be subscribed.
In my particular case, as there are few times of the year when I have time to play long hours, my strategy is to cancel the automatic renewal and my payment details and buy gift cards (available immediately on Amazon and other game stores and codes) for the month I know I have time, buy the card and just enjoy.

Microsoft has announced the list of games available with Xbox Game Pass in the cloud for the first day, indicating that the availability of the titles varies in the country. In the case of Spain, at the time of this writing there were 168 of the 172 games on the list available.
