The augmented reality of Google Maps available for all

In the last few weeks we’ve talked a lot about Google Maps is that Google has been adding numerous improvements both at the level of flatness as driving. In this last function we have seen today added the option to see traffic lights.

A little over two weeks we are told that the company was working on implementing a mode of augmented reality to the function of Street View, and today we found that is already available in Spain.

So we can use the augmented reality on Google Maps

This new layer is joined to the interface photo that shows us how are the streets and roads pro in reality this is not new information since it is the same that we had in the plane-based navigation and guidance.

What is new is to see you there, in Street View, something that can be useful when we activate this feature by tapping on the icon with the photo in the bottom left of the main screen when we clicked on any street.

For now only shops and restaurants

One of the drawbacks of this function is that it only displays blue icons, shopping, and local oranges, of restaurants. We do not see historic buildings or landmarks of another kind specified in the layer of augmented reality.

When you click on one it opens in the bottom area of a box with the basic information of the business and if we want we can click on it to open the tab, complete with ratings, contact details or photographs.

Is for vr if this feature will also be added to the function of pedestrian navigation with augmented reality that uses our camera.

This update of Street View is coming to all users who have installed the version 10.44.3 that you have in the Google Play Store.

The entrance to The augmented reality of Google Maps available for all first appears in The Android Free.
