Microsoft has launched a new update of character optional for different versions of your operating system. These are the builds associated with the patch KB5005101 for Windows 10 2004 (Windows 10 May 2020 Update), for Windows 10 20H2 (Windows 10 October 2020 Update) and for those who already use Windows 10 May 2021 Update.
This optional update comes via the OS builds 19041.1202, 19042.1202, and 19043.1202 and it focuses on correcting a large number of errors, including the correction of the failure when using Bluetooth headsets in calls from or problems with some gestures on the touch screens.

- Fixed an issue that resets the brightness of standard dynamic range (SDR) content on high dynamic range (HDR) monitors. This occurs after you restart your device or reconnect to the device remotely.

- Fix a threading issue which could cause Windows Remote Management (WinRM) service to stop working when under high load.
- Addresses an issue that causes the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) provider host process to stop working. This occurs because of an uncontrolled access violation that occurs when the Desired State Setting (DSC) is used.
- Addresses an issue that causes file migration between distributed file system (DFS) paths that are stored on different volumes to fail. This problem occurs when you implement the migration using PowerShell scripts that use the Move-Item command.
- Fixes a problem that prevents writing to a WMI repository after a low memory condition occurs.
- Addresses an issue that restores the brightness of standard dynamic range (SDR) content on high dynamic range (HDR) monitors. This occurs after you reboot the system or reconnect to the system remotely.
- Fixed an issue that could make an external monitor show a black screen after hibernation. This problem can occur when the external monitor is connected to a docking station through a certain hardware interface.
- Solve a memory leak that occurs when you use nested classes within VBScript.
- Addresses an issue that prevents you from typing words in the username box during the out-of-the-box experience (OOBE) process. This problem occurs when you use the Chinese Input Method Editor (IME).
- Solve a problem causing some applications to stop working. This problem occurs on devices that do not have edgegdi.dll installed. The error message is “Code execution cannot continue because edgegdi.dll was not found.”
- Addresses an issue that could prevent you from minimizing an application that uses themed windows.
- Fix an issue that could cause a device to stop working during a touch input gesture. This issue occurs if you put more fingers in contact with the touchpad or screen during the middle of the gesture.
- Addresses an issue with image resizing that can cause flickering and residual line artifacts.
- Addresses an issue when copying and pasting a text box in Office 365 applications. IME prevents you from inserting text into the text box.
- Fix an issue that prevents USB audio headphones from working on devices that support USB audio download. This problem occurs if you installed third-party audio drivers on the devices.
- Addresses an issue that causes the Authentication Mechanism Assurance (AMA) to stop working. This issue occurs when you migrate to Windows Server 2016 (or newer versions of Windows) and when you use AMA in conjunction with Windows Hello for Business certificates.
- Addresses an issue that prevents code integrity rules from working correctly when specifying package family name rules in a code integrity policy. This problem occurs because of the incorrect handling of case-sensitive names.
- Addresses an issue that prevents the ShellHWDetection service boots on a Privileged Access Workstation (PAW) device and prevents you from managing BitLocker drive encryption.

- Fixes an issue in Windows Defender Vulnerability Protection which prevents some Microsoft Office applications from working on machines that have certain processors.
- Fixes an issue that causes the IME toolbar to appear even when the remote app is closed.
- Fixed an issue that could occur when configuring the policy “Delete user profiles older than a specified number of days when rebooting the system”. If a user has been logged in for longer than specified in the policy, the device might unexpectedly delete profiles during startup.
- Fixed an issue with Microsoft OneDrive sync settings “Always keep on this device”. Settings are unexpectedly reset to “Known Folders Only” after installing a Windows update.
- Fixes an issue that provides an incorrect Furigana result when a user cancels the Japanese reconversion.
- Addresses a rare condition that prevents Bluetooth headphones from connecting using Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) for music playback and makes the headphones only work for voice calls.
- Add the policy “Target Product Version”. With this, administrators can specify the Windows product that they want devices to migrate to or remain on (for example, Windows 10 or Windows 11).
- Increase the default number of entries in the Local Security Authority (LSA) search cache to improve search performance in high search volume scenarios.
- Fixes an issue that could create duplicate built-in local accounts, as an administrator or guest account, during an in-place upgrade. This problem occurs if you previously renamed those accounts. As a result, the Local Users and Groups MMC snap-in (lusrmgr.msc) appears blank without accounts after upgrade. This update removes duplicate accounts from the local Security Accounts Manager (SAM) database on affected machines. If the system detected and removed duplicate accounts, it records a Directory-Services-SAM event, ID 16986, in the system event log.
- Addresses an issue that could cause transfer validations to fail with the error “HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component”. This problem occurs when you use Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2012 as fonts.
- Addresses an issue that can cause a system to stop working after a deduplication filter detects corruption at a point of analysis. This problem occurs because of deduplication driver changes introduced in a previous update.
- Fixes an issue with the use of the robocopy command with backup option (/ B) to fix data loss. This issue occurs when the source location contains tiered Azure File Sync files or tiered cloud files.
- Stops query execution in OneSettings APIs from deprecated Storage Health feature.
- Enables more than 1400 new mobile device management (MDM) policies. With them, you can configure policies that are also compatible with group policies. These new MDM policies include Administrative Template (ADMX) policies such as App Compat, Event Forwarding, Service, and Task Scheduler. Starting in September 2021, you can use the Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM) Configuration Catalog to configure these new MDM policies.
