WhatsApp added the messages that are automatically deleted (or temporary messages) in September of last year, as a way to prevent a chat history from expanding indefinitely. The twist of this function is already underway, as it has discovered WaBetaInfo, and it would arrive in the form of the shipment of photos that can only be viewed once.
As WaBetaInfo has been able to find out, the function is already quite advanced in the WhatsApp betas, although it is not yet shown to users. It would work in a similar way to photos that can be seen once on Instagram. Touch to view and, when exiting the viewer, it is removed from the mobile.

Photos for your eyes only, just once
When the rumors started that WhatsApp was working on the disappearing messages, some of us expected it to be a self-destruct feature. similar to the one present in the secret chats of Telegram, being able to choose between different time frames. It was not like that: the temporary messages of WhatsApp can be activated or deactivated, but always with a period of seven days, despite in previous betas We saw that the app was considering more options.
As far as we know, the temporary WhatsApp messages are going to stay as they are, that is, seven days away, but the company is working on adding a related feature: photos that can only be viewed once. It is a concept that is already present on Instagram, where there are three options: see only once, allow to see again and keep in the chat.
WaBetaInfo has succeeded in activating the feature, which is not yet available to users. We see that, when sending a photo, you can choose if you want it to be seen only once with a new icon. This kind of photos will be shown in the chat blurred, in small and with a text that says Tap to see.
Tapping opens the photo in the same way as always, but without the option to share the app with other applications. A warning message indicates that, when you close the chat, the photo will disappear. This notice seems to indicate that you can open the photo, return to the same chat, and reopen the photo as many times as you want, as long as you don’t exit the chat.
Being a half-cooked function, we still do not know if WhatsApp will prevent or make it difficult for you to take screenshots or if it will send a notice to the other person in case you do. At the moment, it does not. It is not yet known when this feature will reach users or if it will arrive.
