Use the new emojis in WhatsApp: already in the latest beta

Stickers have already become an essential part of the WhatsApp conversations of thousands of users in Spain. Having introduced the ability to mute videos before sending them weeks ago, the messaging app is starting to introduce a long-awaited new feature. It is about the possibility of importing stickers in the application.

Until now, WhatsApp only allowed you to use the sticker packs that are available in the application itself. The application is beginning to deploy in some countries the possibility to import your own stickers. So you can use stickers from other apps or those you have created in your chats.

For now, users in Brazil, Indonesia and Iran are the first to have this possibility of importing their own stickers on WhatsApp. This is possible in beta number 2.21.3.19 of the Android application. Installing versions like beta 2.21.5.6 can help users in other countries to access this feature, although it does not seem to be available in many countries at the moment.

Users will be able to create their own stickers with apps like Sticker Maker, one of the most popular options on Android, which can be downloaded for free in the Play Store. This application will allow you to create stickers or GIFs in a simple way, from videos that you have in your phone’s gallery. You will only have to choose the file you want to use in this case to create that sticker or GIF that you are going to use.

Sticker Maker converts files directly to webp format, which is what you can import from WhatsApp then. Once this import is done, you will be able to use your own stickers in your conversations in the popular messaging application. At least you must create three stickers to have a pack, it is the minimum required to be able to import them into the app. Also, in a pack you must have either normal stickers or animated stickers, but you cannot mix them.

This function is starting to unfold already, but it may take a few days to officially arrive in Spain. At least, one of the functions that many users were waiting for is now a reality: being able to import your own stickers.

The WhatsApp entry already allows you to import your own stickers, it appears first in The Free Android.
