Instagram is one of the most popular social networks in Spain, with millions of users. Stories have become an especially popular element in this app, something that you have surely noticed, as many of the accounts you follow upload stories on a daily basis. There are times when these stories show posts from other accounts.
The posts you upload to your Instagram account can be shared by other accounts in their stories on the social network, either just your friends if you have a private account or anyone in the case of having a public account. If you don’t like this idea, you can easily prevent others from sharing it.

Prevent them from sharing your Instagram posts
The social network has functions with which to protect the privacy of your account, including the possibility of prevent other users from sharing them in their stories, for example. If you want nobody to be able to share your publications in their stories, especially if it is something that is done in permission, there are a couple of options that we can use in the application settings. The steps to follow are:
- Open Instagram on your phone.
- Click on your profile icon at the bottom.
- Click on the three horizontal stripes in the upper right.
- Go to Settings.
- Enter the Privacy section.
- Enter History.
- Scroll down to the “Shared Content” section.
- Turn off “Allow re-sharing to stories.”
- Turn off “Allow sharing.”
The first of the options will prevent other users on Instagram they will be able to share your publicationsBe it photos, videos or IGTV content, in their stories. If others share this is something you don’t like or make you feel uncomfortable with, you can disable this option. The second option prevents your followers from sharing your posts in messages.
These types of options will give you greater control over what happens with your publications on the social network, by preventing others from sharing them. If you have a private account and the followers are people you know mostly, it would not be necessary to resort to these types of functions.
