After the official presentation of Android 12, although in the development phase, it is possible to start testing the new version of Google’s operating system. And so yes, let’s not forget that we are facing really initial versions, even before the beta versions.
We recommend that you are going to install this first Android 12 Developer Preview 1 do it in a terminal other than the main one.
List of compatible mobiles
At the moment, and until the beta phase arrives at least, we will need a Pixel to be able to use Android 12. These are the compatible ones.
- Pixel 3/3 XL
- Pixel 3a / 3a XL
- Pixel 4/4 XL
- Pixel 4a / 4a 5G
- Pixel 5
How to install Android 12 on a compatible mobile
There are many ways to install an Android version, using the factory images or downloading the OTAs, but we recommend the simplest. You have to follow these steps.
- We open Chrome on the computer.
- We open the Android Flash Tool web.
- We connect the Pixel to the PC with a USB-C cable.
- We select the Pixel from the list of connected devices.
- We select the version of software that you want to install.
- In the case of Android 12 the build ID is 7145137
- We choose if we want to format the device or block the bootloader.
- Click on the Install button.
- Click on Confirm.
- We follow the instructions on the screen.
When we finish we will simply have to unplug the mobile from the computer when indicated in the Google Chrome tab.
The process has led us less than 30 minutes and it has been exceptionally simple.
