Android has changed a lot in the decade that it has been with us. From the first version to the eleventh we have seen changes of all kinds, many of them visual.
However, mobile manufacturers have always been ahead of the game when it comes to aesthetics, ever since HTC introduced Sense for its HTC Hero. In 2021 things are different, of course, but manufacturers are still the main players when it comes to personalizing mobile phones.
The best example of this is found in Color OS 11, the latest OPPO interface, which we have been able to test in the OPPO Find X2 Pro. There are many new features, but today we want to focus on those related to customization because OPPO has put a lot of effort in that, and it shows.
Unique wallpapers in Color OS 11
One of the new options is the automatic creation of minimalist wallpapers from any image. In the gallery application we can choose a photo, click on the More button, and there on Set as wallpaper.
Instead of accepting, click on the icon above the photo and the colors will be scanned. Color OS will offer us various design patterns using those colors.
Icon customization
We can also customize the desktop icons, making a pinch to zoom in them. There we can modify the shape, the aesthetics, the size of the same, the interior icon and the text. The latter can even be eliminated.
Editable dark mode
One of the most striking functions is the dark mode, which we can edit to be more or less intense, to affect the icons of the apps and even to activate the dark mode in certain third-party applications.
Customizable Active Screen
The Active Screen or Environment has changed its interface, allowing you to choose various designs, some of which can be edited with the text you want.
Within each one we can change the alignment, the colors and even the elements that will appear, such as the battery, notifications, time …
Also related to the screen we have the option of edge lighting, which will make them turn on if they call us or if a notification arrives.
Notification colors and icons
Until recently, Oxygen OS was the only interface that allowed you to edit the colors and shape of the notification bar icons, as well as the settings. In Color OS we can set the tone we want, and even choose between certain combinations.
In addition, we can change the size of the font and the typeface, although by default we only have one.
Fingerprint aesthetics
Along with the major customizations we have others that are not so obvious, such as the one that allows you to change the animation of the fingerprint unlock icon.
Columns, rows and app drawer
Finally, on desktops we can change the number of rows and columns. Within the application drawer it is also possible to reorder the apps by name, date or use.
As you can see, the amount of possibilities that Color OS 11 gives us makes it one of the most customizable interfaces that we currently have on Android.
The entry OPPO has in Color OS 11 the perfect system to customize an Android mobile appears first in The Free Android.
