The "secret dessert" Android 12 would be Snow Cone, or snow cone 1

As we approach the first Android 12 Developer Preview, the pace of leaks of the next big version of Android accelerates. There is no confirmed date for the first beta of Android 12, although following the scheme of previous years, it should be to fall.

At the same time we knew that Android 12 could be working on a native mode for one-handed use we learn something a little more mundane: the internal dessert name of the operating system. It would be, according to XDA, an ice cream cone.

With Android 10, Google said goodbye to desserts that had accompanied the operating system since its inception: Android 1.5 Cupcake, Android 1.6 Donut, Android 2.0 Eclair, Android 2.2 Froyo, Android 2.3 Gingerbread and so on. A) Yes, Android 10 and Android 11 ran out of desserts, at least visibly.

Internally, the desserts continued. Android 10 was Queen Cake and Quince Tart (Queen cake and quince tart), while Android 11 was unofficially Red Velvet Cake, or Red Velvet cake. Not for the user, although last year even the virtual statue of Android included a nod to their secret dessert recipe.

Apparently Android 12 has all the ballots to be known internally as Snow Cone, or ice cream cone. According to XDA, they have known this dessert after “poking around a bit”, although the Android 12 code has not yet seen the light. Despite being an internal code, it is common to find it mentioned in different sections of the AOSP code.

At the moment, it is not confirmed. We will have to wait for the first Android 12 Developer Preview to be able to start looking at the system code, the latest betas to find the easter egg and the official stable version, perhaps in September, to see if there are any additional surprises with the “statue” of this version.
